Luxury Vinyl Plank in the Treasure Valley
Luxury vinyl plank delivers convincing wood looks with a waterproof core — a workhorse for Idaho mudrooms, kitchens, and family zones, installed over subfloors we actually flatten first.

Overview
Beautiful, Lasting Luxury Vinyl Plank
Luxury vinyl plank has become the default working floor of the Treasure Valley for a reason: it looks convincingly like wood, it's genuinely waterproof, and it doesn't care that your January entryway is a puddle of snowmelt and Bogus Basin grit. We install rigid-core LVP the way it actually performs well — over subfloors we flatten first, with expansion handled correctly and transitions that don't collect toes.

Why Homeowners Choose Our Luxury Vinyl Plank
Waterproof Where Idaho Life Happens
Melting boot slush by the garage door, dog bowls, bathroom splash, a forgotten sprinkler-day window left open — LVP's core takes all of it without swelling. It's the floor we specify for the rooms that see real water.
Grit and Claw Resilience
The wear layer on a quality plank stands up to sand tracked off unpaved shoulders, cleats, and big-dog traffic far better than most finishes. For rentals and hardworking family homes, it's the sanity choice.
Flatness Is the Real Secret
Click-lock floors telegraph every hump and dip beneath them. We grind high spots, fill low ones, and level to the product's spec — the unglamorous step that decides whether joints stay locked for fifteen years or click apart in two.
Fast, Livable Installs
No cure times, no finish fumes, walk on it the same day. Whole-house LVP projects routinely wrap in days, which matters when you're timing around a move-in or tenant turnover.
Options & Styles
Luxury Vinyl Plank Options We Install
We help you choose the right product for your rooms, your budget, and how you live.
SPC Rigid Core
Stone-polymer cores are the dense, dent-resistant standard for busy Treasure Valley households — dimensionally steady in rooms with big south-facing windows where sun swings surface temperatures daily.
WPC Comfort Core
Wood-polymer cores run thicker and softer underfoot with better warmth and sound — a nice fit for basements and bedrooms where comfort outranks maximum dent resistance.
Wear-Layer Tiers
Residential planks run roughly 12 to 22 mil wear layers; 20 mil-plus is our benchmark for entries, kitchens, and anywhere pets rule. We'll match the tier to the traffic honestly instead of upselling by default.
Wood Looks & Formats
Long, wide planks in oak and hickory visuals with registered embossing that lines texture up with the printed grain — plus herringbone-format planks for entries and offices that want something tailored.
Attached vs. Separate Underlayment
Many rigid planks include a pad; some substrates and sound goals want a dedicated underlayment instead. On concrete we also address vapor properly so the floor above stays trouble-free.
Glue-Down LVP
For large open floorplates, heavy rolling loads, or rooms with extreme sun exposure, a glued installation removes float-related movement altogether — we'll flag when it's worth the extra labor.

Before You Choose
- Not all vinyl plank is equal, and the difference is mostly invisible at the sample stage: core density, wear-layer thickness, and locking-system quality separate a 15-year floor from a 4-year one. We quote specific specs, not just a brand-collection name.
- Floating floors need room to move. Perimeter gaps, correct transitions at doorways, and length limits in long runs are what keep a floated LVP flat — details that get skipped in rushed installs and show up as peaking a year later.
- Direct hot sun through big glass — common in newer Meridian and Star great rooms — cycles plank temperature enough to stress cheap cores. Product choice and sometimes glue-down installation are the fix; we'll tell you if your room qualifies.
- LVP is waterproof, but your subfloor isn't. A flood still needs drying out underneath; the plank protects itself, not the OSB below it.
- Existing floors sometimes stay: LVP can go over well-bonded tile or vinyl if heights and flatness allow, saving demo cost — but we'll never float over a failing substrate just to skip a day of prep.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is LVP really waterproof or just water-resistant?
The plank itself — core and wear surface — is waterproof; soak it for a week and it won't swell. What needs nuance is the floor system: water that reaches seams in quantity can get past a floating floor to the subfloor beneath. Everyday Idaho realities like snowmelt, spills, and pet accidents are exactly what it's built for.
Which is better for my home, SPC or WPC?
SPC's dense mineral core resists dents and temperature swings, making it our usual call for main living areas, kitchens, and sunny rooms. WPC is thicker, warmer, and quieter — great in basements and bedrooms. Half our recommendation is just knowing which rooms you're flooring.
Can LVP go over my concrete slab or in the basement?
Yes — it's one of the best floors for below-grade and slab-on-grade spaces because moisture doesn't hurt it. We still test the concrete and handle vapor correctly, because trapped slab moisture can cause other problems even when the plank is fine.
Does luxury vinyl work with radiant floor heat?
Most quality rigid-core lines are rated for radiant within a surface-temperature cap, typically around the low 80s Fahrenheit. We verify the specific product's rating against your system before quoting it.
How does LVP handle a mudroom that sees snow all winter?
Better than nearly anything except tile. The surface doesn't mind water or ice-melt residue, and a 20 mil-plus wear layer takes grit well — add a quality walk-off mat and it's about as low-maintenance as a winter entry gets.
What does an LVP project run?
The spread depends on plank spec, how much furniture and old flooring we're handling, and what your subfloor needs to hit flatness spec. Reach out through the contact form for a free measure — you'll get one clear itemized number, not a per-foot teaser that grows later.
