Punch & Warranty Service
The floor gets judged twice — at the buyer walk and again a year later. We stand behind both moments: quick punch turnaround before close and honest warranty service after it.
Punch work is where flooring subs get graded honestly. Anyone can look good on install day; the question is what happens when the blue tape goes up — a scratched plank, a proud transition, a carpet seam that caught the afternoon light in the buyer walk. A builder needs those items closed fast and closed once, because an unresolved flooring punch item can hold a close hostage over a hundred-dollar fix.
And the judgment doesn't end at closing. For the first year, every squeak and gap in that house lands on your warranty desk with your company's name on it. A flooring trade that disappears after the last draw turns those calls into your problem; one that services its work turns them into routine.
Pre-Close Punch, Done Once
Our goal on punch is a short list and a single trip. Because our installs follow a documented standard, most communities generate few flooring items to begin with; the ones that do appear get scheduled promptly, fixed to the same standard as the original install, and verified before we call them closed. Attic stock from the original material order means repairs match — which is exactly why we plan attic stock into the package from the start.
- Punch items scheduled promptly and closed in as few trips as possible
- Repairs made from matching attic stock reserved at install
- Fixes verified against the original install standard, not just "good enough to close"
- Clear status back to your super, so the close checklist keeps moving
Warranty Calls, Handled Honestly
First-year flooring calls in this climate follow a pattern: the first heating season pulls Treasure Valley indoor humidity down hard, and wood floors respond — hairline gaps, minor movement, the occasional squeak as the structure itself dries. Some of that is legitimate warranty work; some is normal seasonal behavior in a high-desert winter that reverses come spring.
We handle both honestly. Real defects get fixed under our workmanship warranty without a fight. Normal seasonal movement gets explained to the homeowner clearly and respectfully — with practical guidance on winter humidification — so your warranty manager isn't stuck paying to "fix" physics or arguing with a frustrated buyer.
What We Won't Promise
You'll notice we don't quote a guaranteed response time in hours or claim a zero-punch record — those numbers are marketing until a specific community and package define them. What we'll commit to is the part that's ours to control: punch and warranty work treated as first-class scheduled work rather than someday work, and a straight answer on every item about what's covered, what's seasonal, and what's neither.

Good to Know
Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly do you turn punch items?
Promptly — punch is scheduled work in our program, not fill-in work. We agree turnaround expectations per community upfront rather than advertising a universal number, and then we hold what we agreed.
Do you handle homeowner warranty calls directly?
However you prefer. Some builders route everything through their warranty desk; others want us talking to the homeowner directly once dispatched. Either way, you get status on every item and an honest call on what's warranty versus seasonal.
What does the wood floor gapping call in January actually mean?
Usually the first heating season. High-desert winter air pulls indoor humidity down sharply and wood responds with hairline gaps that typically close in spring. We inspect rather than assume — real install defects get fixed under warranty; seasonal movement gets explained with humidification guidance.
Is your work warrantied?
Yes — our workmanship warranty stands behind the installed floor, and we're an Idaho registered contractor (RCE-6681702) with insurance documentation for your job file.
